Invitation to Open Danish Championship 2005 July 27. - 30.

5/4-2005

It is of great importance for Danish BB10m Club that we succeed in arranging an Open Danish Championship in 2005. Since it was not possible in 2004, we hereby encurage every BB10m sailor (also from abroad) to participate in this years Open Danish Championship. The championship takes place July 27-30, 2005 very central in Denmark – Lundeborg on East Fynen. Therefore, we hope that many will set course to DM2005 and eventually combine the participation in DM with a summer trip in the waters around Fynen. Some times it can be difficult to engage the permanent crew at a DM. If you have problems getting a crew please contact the BB10m Board. We will be happy to help you to supplement the crew list. DM 2005 is not etirely a regatta. It is also a unique opportunity to get together with other BB10m-sailors and exchange tips and experience. There will be a celebration Saturday evening and lots of opportunities for cosy get together beteen the races - both for the sailors and their families. Also those BB10m–sailors who do not intend to race are very welcome to sail to Lundeborg and participate in the social get together. That is why we have send material about the many experiencies which you can get inb and around Lundeborg. There is a modern yacht harbour which is an extension of the very cosy fishing harbour which is wellknown for many visitiors. So join us in Lundeborg, participate in the Open Danish Championship 2005 for BB10m and get this years sailing experience for you and your crew.

Jameson Cup in Vedbæk

3/10-2004

Jameson Cup is the great annual Fall race in Denmark. It was arranged Sunday October 3 and more than 250 boats participated. This year seven BB10m boats raced on a 28.4 mile long course up and down Øresund in splendid fall weather but with changing winds. Very difficult weather conditions which those who were able to 'read' the winds benefitted greatly from. Tom Carlsen in DEN-87 was surely able to do that. He sailed a really magnificient race and led the race from start to the finishing line. Unfortunately, the boat got a penalty of 40 minutes since it violated the starting procedure and thus became only 5th in the race. Winner was accordingly DEN-18 with DEN-5 2nd and DEN-53 3rd. DEN-42 came 4th and DEN-37 and SWE-4 shared the last two positions.

3DL Genoa for BB10m

26/3-2004

As a consequence of the approval of the changes of the class rules regarding Kevlar in the fore sails, it is now allowed to use e.g. the new 3DL cloth (contains Kevlar-yarns) in the fore sails. North Sails has accordingly manufactured a 3DL Genoa, which has been tested by Jes Madsen, Søren Koitzsch, Bjarne Venø P. and Mads Christensen from North at Jes' boat, Celie. We hope later to show some pictures and report in more details from the test.
